Matthew spence
Matthew is a software engineer specializing in privacy and cybersecurity. Before TechCongress he worked for a startup based in Salt Lake City developing cutting edge digital identity technology which was purchased by a European cyber security company in 2022. Prior to that he worked in cyber security in various roles, mostly doing incident response at large institutions.
Matthew holds a degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Texas A&M University, where he also worked as an incident responder in the university information security department. Matthew is passionate about using technology to make government more efficient, transparent, and accountable, and is hoping to advance government technology capacity as a TechCongress fellow.
Matthew is working for Sen. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) working on cyber security, privacy, AI, customs modernization, foreign policy issues.
