Where they're serving: the placement for our 2020 Congressional Innovation Scholars

After meeting with several Congressional Offices, this year’s Congressional Innovation Scholars have selected where they will be spending the next 10 months!

Our Scholars join our Congressional Innovation Fellows, who began in January and are serving with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Whip John Thune, Senator Rob Portman, the Senate Banking Committee, the House Judiciary Committee Antitrust Subcommittee, and Senator Tim Scott.

  • Zach Barnes will be serving with the House Energy and Commerce Committee Minority Staff under Ranking Member Greg Walden (R-OR) and supporting on issues such as autonomous vehicles and artificial intelligence.

  • Jackson Brietzke will be serving with the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee Majority staff under Chairman Rand Paul (R-KY) and supporting on issues relating to national security and cybersecurity.

  • Genevieve Fried will be serving with Senator Chris Coons (D-DE) and supporting on issues of algorithmic accountability and justice.

  • Crystal Grant will be serving with Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and supporting on oversight, health care, and technology issues.

  • Noam Kantor will be serving with the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation staff under Senator Maria Cantwell (D-WA) working with the Consumer Protection Subcommittee.

  • Sohum Pawar will be serving with Representative Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and supporting on cyber and energy/environmental issues.

We’re excited to see the incredible work that our scholars will support! Keep up with the Scholars on their journey through our blog posts, podcasts, and Twitter.
